Hartland Tae Kwon Do’s Mission Statement
As lifelong
practitioners of the martial arts, the instructors of Hartland Tae Kwon Do
seek to provide the finest instruction in traditional and
fundamentally-based Tae Kwon Do, self-defense and physical conditioning.
Through the Tenets of Tae Kwon Do (Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance,
Self-Control, Indomitable Spirit), the school seeks to promote a holistic
balance between body and mind in order to enhance personal growth.
Program Description/Class Level Breakdown
Hartland Tae Kwon Do, through the Hartland Sports
Center, has formulated a class setup that is sure to meet the needs of every
student. The beginner is first placed in the white belt class, under the
direct instruction of a certified black belt. In this class, he/she will be
introduced to the basics. This class is designed so that each individual can
receive more focused attention on their skills. As the individual
progresses, he or she will then be introduced to different levels of
fundamentally-based techniques, self-defense, and sparring. With each rank,
the student will be presented with new challenges, all of which are exciting
and beneficial.
Tenets of Tae Kwon Do
The program
believes that by promoting these five tenets, each individual will carry
these rules not only in class, but in everyday life experiences.
-
Courtesy: To treat each another with respect and
courtesy, both in one’s verbal and physical actions.
-
Integrity: To be honest and true to oneself and others.
-
Perseverance: To find inner strength, even when
presented with challenges and difficult situations.
-
Self-Control: To know personal strengths and weaknesses,
and to act on those qualities in a beneficial way.
-
Indomitable Spirit: To be proud of oneself and personal
accomplishments, and to never allow another to break that spirit.
